Join Michael for a special workshop on June 2, from 2-4 pm:
Living with a Wild Heart: Embracing Moment, Breath and Play On and Off our Mats
Life moves quickly. Each day provides us with an opportunity for growth, connection and play.
In this experiential workshop we’ll examine how we can use our practice on the mat to live a more fully engage life off the mat. Participants are encouraged to bring journals and to dress comfortably. This is an inclusive space and we welcome individuals of all shapes, sizes, gender, sexual orientation, and yoga experience.
The workshop will include movement, meditation, writing exercises, and breath work.
Some things to look forward to in this workshop:
- Practice Functional Movement and Mobility and how to utilize these concepts to deepen our practice
- Practice intention setting, and how to utilize yoga/movement work to empower intention
- Understanding how yoga invites us to our edges, and how to embrace those edges
- Inviting emotion and vulnerability into our practice
- How to embrace and practice playful movement on and off the mat
This workshop is open to participants of all levels, and there will be plenty of time for discussion, questions and answers.

Can’t make it to the workshop? You’ll find Mike teaching the Tuesday May 29 6 pm Level 1 class and the Saturday June 2 9 am all levels Hatha class.
About the instructor:
Michael has been teaching and practicing yoga for over 15 years. He is a certified ACE Group Fitness Instructor, Certified in 6 Les Mills Programs and a Group Fitness Director of his home gym in Columbia SC. Michael’s classes blend creative vinyasa sequencing and traditional asana work with mobility, strength work and lots of humor. Michael has led classes in Virginia, Washington DC, and South Carolina. While living in DC Michael led the DC LGBT Center’s community yoga program for over 4 years. It was one of the largest volunteer yoga groups in the city. Michael believes yoga is a powerful tool for helping you live your best life on and off the yoga mat. Michael is also a firm believer in yoga as a place for creating and fostering community, which in turn helps us to impact the the world beyond our classes.
