Lighthouse Yoga Center is moving to Kennedy Street!

After 6 months operating out of borrowed space, we have signed a lease for a new, permanent home on 5th and Kennedy Streets NW. The new studio will be among the most beautiful in DC (trust us on this!) with wonderful new amenities.

Lighthouse is Reopening in March!

Now that the lease is signed, we’re beginning to get the new space ready for YOGA. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Two good-sized studio spaces in a quiet, second floor location.
  • Large windows to maximize natural light.
  • An expanded schedule, including daily Kundalini classes, at least 3-4 daily Hatha or Vinyasa classes, restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, and more.
  • Early morning and later evening classes to fit YOUR schedule.
  • Affordable pricing and high quality teachers, as always.

What’s the Timeline?

Thankfully, the space we rented is in excellent shape and just needs some spiffing up. We’re bringing back the cork floors, replacing the windows, painting, adding a desk for the reception area, and more. The biggest job will be sub-diving the main area to create a second studio. Assuming we get our building permits quickly, we’re hoping to re-open sometime in March.

What Changes do I Need to Be Aware Of?

As part of this expansion, we’ll be rolling out a new check-in system in the coming week. You’ll be asked to create a new login and password. All current passes will be transferred, but your attendance and payment history will be lost. If you need any of that information for your records, please download it and save it prior to Saturday, February 9.

What Can I Do to Help?

Thank you for asking! As we upgrade and expand, we’ve got lots of expenses, including many things that Lighthouse will need to purchase: new mats and props, furniture, decorations, signage, a sound system, and supplies. In the coming week, we’ll be rolling out a Capital Building Campaign so we can open this new studio in style! Keep your eyes open for special membership offers to help support us in this transition. We’re also looking for new work/trade volunteers (sevadars) for variety of tasks, primarily weekends and evenings. If you’d like to help out at the studio in exchange for free yoga, please contact Jazmín. Stay tuned for more info – and photos will be available soon!
