Have you ever had a student with a larger body show up to your class, and didn’t know what to do with them? Or maybe you just aren’t sure how to offer modifications to them in a supportive way that doesn’t single them out. Perhaps you’d just like to see more body diversity in your classes.

annie bolstersThis workshop will offer practical tools, modifications, and detailed instruction on using various yoga props to help your larger bodied students get the most out of their asana practice. We will talk about assumptions, triggering language, and how to reduce harm done to larger bodied students in yoga settings. Annie will speak from her experience as both a larger bodied student and teacher to help you make your classes a more welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. Bring any and all questions that you might hesitate to ask your students about how to make the practice work for them – we’ll figure them out together!

Open to anyone with interest in this topic, and there are no particular pre-requisites. Just bring an open mind and a desire to learn and share!

*Using language that empowers and avoiding triggers
*Poses and sequences – using props and the wall, working transitions, other modification ideas and how to introduce modifications in a positive way
Cost: $80 early bird registration; $90 at the door.
This course counts for 3 CEU Contact Hours with Yoga Alliance.
