On September 22, Lighthouse will be closing our doors and relocating some of our classes to Teatro de la Luna, 4030 Georgia Ave NW, and Up Yoga and Wellness, 8083 Georgia Ave (Silver Spring). Unfortunately, as welcoming as both these businesses are, they aren’t able to accommodate our full schedule at this point.
So sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to four of our very popular teachers these coming weeks. We hope to have them back on the schedule sometime soon, but for now, these are your last chances to take their classes.
Annie Carlin Olle has been with Lighthouse longer than any other teacher on our staff. She came to us as a newly-minted instructor, and during her time at Lighthouse has developed into one of the country’s most respected teachers of Supportive Yoga and Yoga for Larger Bodies. She teaches a dynamic, fun class with creative sequencing and postures. Annie’s final class at Lighthouse (for now) will be on Saturday September 22 at 9 am.
You can follow Annie on Instagram.
Meredith McCullough has introduced over a hundred new students to yoga in her popular Yoga Fundamentals course. She has also developed our Family Yoga program, including Prenatal Yoga, Baby and Me Yoga, Yoga for Movers and Tots, and Family Yoga Playtime. Until recently Meredith anchored our Wednesday evenings with her Align and Flow class. Meredith’s students speak of her in glowing terms and many acknowledge that until they took her class, they were afraid to try yoga. She excels in building community and has been a huge advocate for Lighthouse in the neighborhood.
Meredith lives in Petworth and you’ll continue to see her at community events.
Catherine Marquette is a relatively new addition to Lighthouse but she came in with a bang. Catherine’s Align and Refine classes consistently fill up, as students of all levels want to benefit from her precise alignment cues and challenging sequences – not to mention her bad jokes. In just under two years at Lighthouse, Catherine has brought in a depth of knowledge that is unmatched by most studios in town. Her final class is on Tuesday September 19 at 7:15 pm – and she’s promising an outing to Taco Tuesday afterwards.
Catherine keeps her website up to date with classes and events – and we’re working on a couple fall workshops, so stay tuned!
Kati Gimes is a passionate and knowledgeable Kundalini Yoga instructor who has been teaching the Sunday Kundalini class for the past 3 years. Kati’s classes are challenging – but in a fun way! Her students love her choices of kriyas and she’s known as a demanding yet compassionate teacher. Because of her decades of experience as a popular Hatha teacher in the DC-area, Kati’s alignment cues and modifications in her classes have won her a devoted following.
Kati is currently preparing to celebrate the birth of her third grandchild and will be back in town to teach at her Bethesda home studio later in the fall.
