Boundaries are our energetic containers – how we manage our life force both internally and externally.
Boundaries have many definitions and purposes – and how you individually relate to them is hugely important in your life. They can have a positive or negative impact on our lives, depending upon how we use the power inherent in them.
Mindfully managed, boundaries support and protect us, and feed our spirits. Used incorrectly, boundaries can cause drama in many aspects of our lives. Without boundaries, we can become depleted and compromise our energy. When we become more skillful in setting appropriate and healthy boundaries, we actually create more freedom!
Join Abby in this workshop where you’ll learn actionable tools to create a positive and elevating relationship with setting boundaries.
We’ll begin the workshop by defining different kinds of boundaries and how they impact our lives. We’ll discuss the potential for stigma around boundary setting, and how setting boundaries actually makes us more compassionate towards ourselves and others.
Then, we’ll move into ceremony to invite in the support and wisdom of our guides and ancestors as we do this important work. The following yoga practice will be intelligently designed to help you to find and feel your most aligned self.
You’ll be given specific tools to learn how you can create a safe container for your own individual life force. We’ll end the workshop with journaling, and a discussion of how you can use these embodied and actionable tools not only on your yoga mat, but also in your day-to-day life!
You’ll leave with a new level of skillfulness in holding space for yourself and others, and for self-care and support.

About Abby Dobbs
Abby Dobbs is a yoga teacher, bodyworker & energyworker, and teacher of teachers who gives individuals the tools to lead their most empowered and fulfilled lives. A naturally anxious person, Abby found that yoga, more than anything else, gives her the tools for a peaceful, grounded life. Abby completed her first 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Ana Forrest in 2008 and has continued chasing her passion through additional trainings Yogaworks with Natasha Rizopoulos, Rocket Yoga with David Kyle, Forrest Yoga, and Yin Yoga. Abby attended Massage School in 2010, and has continued to grow her fascination of the body through multiple Yoga Bodyworker trainings with Jambo Truong and Brian Campbell. Abby is continuously captivated by the inner-workings of the body, and how each individual’s body receives healing.
Called to build a community for seeking students, Abby opened Kali Yoga Studio in Washington, DC in 2013 where she worked with over 30 gifted instructors, and brought guest instructors to host specialty workshops and trainings. Abby ran Kali Yoga Studio with love for over 5 years, before selling it in 2018 to a dear friend and colleague. A Teacher’s Teacher, Abby created her own 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, and runs Advanced Teacher Trainings in topics like Holding Space, the Business & Ethics of Yoga, Hands-On Assisting, and Functional Anatomy.
As a long-time yoga practitioner, bodyworker, and energyworker, Abby has a uniquely holistic view of physical anatomy, energetics, and movement that she weaves into her classes, workshops, and ceremonies. Off the mat, Abby loves to read fantasy novels, cook and bake vegan food, and snuggle her two fabulous cats – Kitty Boo & Billy.
