Join us for a special 6-week prenatal series for expectant moms!
Dates: Wednesdays 6-7:15 pm, May 8-June 12
Instructor: Rebecca Henry
Join birth and postpartum doula Rebecca Henry for a very special 6-week Prenatal Yoga Series in May and June! Prenatal yoga is not just a regular yoga class adapted for pregnant people. At a time when everything is changing in your body, prenatal yoga helps moms-to-be reconnect with and build body awareness, stretch, strengthen and release the muscles most easily affected by pregnancy and foster a greater understanding of what is happening with our bodies during pregnancy and childbirth.
This series will give moms a chance to foster a sense of community with other moms, explore techniques for preparing for and coping with labor and help make space for baby to turn into optimal position for labor and birth.
Open to all stages of pregnancy and all levels of yoga experience. Accomodations will be provided for injuries or special conditions. However, if in doubt, we recommend that you consult your physician before signing up.
Cost: $100 for the full series / $50 for members
No drop-ins please. Purchase the Workshop Pass to attend. (Regular class cards won’t be valid for this offering).

About Rebecca Henry
Rebecca’s journey with yoga and meditation began more than twenty years ago when she took precepts with the Zen Buddhist Society of Compassionate Wisdom, finding that a vigorous yoga practice was the only way to keep her chattering mind quiet on her meditation mat. As those practices expanded into helping her with the stresses of school, and, later, work and family life, she has been exploring the benefits of her practice on and off the mat ever since. Forever a student, she brings a beginners mind and an awakened heart to her practice and teaching. Compassion, empathy, humor and joy are at the core of all of her classes. Her focus is on alignment and mindful movement with breath in both a traditional hatha as well as vinyasa style.
Rebecca completed her RYT-200 training at Willow Street Yoga in Takoma Park, MD, and an 85 hour Yoga Alliance pre and post natal yoga teacher training with Debra Flashenburg of the Prenatal Yoga Center of New York City. As a mother of two young boys, she is impassioned to support other women in their journey into motherhood through the mindfulness and body centered practices of yoga and meditation. As birth and postpartum doula, she emphasizes childbirth education and body awareness in her prenatal classes, bringing these practical aspects together with a warm, nurturing teaching style.
